The truth is people don’t understand the guidelines that surround moderate alcohol use limits.

DrinkControl tracks and converts your alcohol intake quantities, such as glasses, bottles or cans, into the standard units of alcohol, and lets you know when you are going over the limits (set by moderate drinking guidelines) as well as how much you have spent on drinks and calories you consumed from alcohol.

Now, that’s a sobering thought.

Pros and cons of DrinkControl – Alcohol Tracker app for iPhone and iPad

DrinkControl – Alcohol Tracker app good for

I really like this app. It has a lot of functionality and flexibility to help track your drinking and spending on alcohol. I tried one of the free apps and it was terrible. This is worth the couple bucks.
App is very easy to use and has great functionality... Good graphical representation of drinks consumed as well as money spent and calories consumed. Easy to input data which is important if you want to make sure you input all drinks
Works well. Very simple and intuitive. Im a data person and I like the stats and visual tracking of the app. Helps me realize what I drink over time.

Some bad moments

Pros: easy to track the number of alcohol units you have consumed on a daily basis, pretty slick interface with a great "another wine" (or whatever your last drink was) button right on the home screen which makes it super easy to track your next drink when youre having the same thing as your last drink. Cons: the cartoon bimbo with the quote. She is part of a small army of cartoon women with big breasts and scant clothing, and you cant get her off the home screen. Seriously, as an optional feature this may appeal to some, but as a permanent fixture it is simply distasteful and a huge waste of screen. Also: no way to add your own drinks to the somewhat limited list (for example, gin and tonic is missing - though it is easy to alter the size and percent alcohol of the drinks which are present), the flip through interface for choosing a drink is atrocious, everything is recorded by the day rather than hour or minute so this is no good if you are trying to figure your blood alcohol level, and the standard alcohol unit and suggested levels dont take into account a persons mass. It suggests 2 drinks a night as moderate and healthy regardless of whether you weigh 90 lbs or 300. It would be nice if this app incorporates a blood alcohol level calculator/tracker. If this app paired up with the DrinkTracker app the result would be highly useful. As it is it is only marginally useful. If all you care about is tracking the number of drink units you consume per day and are not offended by cartoon women with oversized breasts in swimsuits channeling the likes of Lord Byron then this is the app for you. This seems to be a pretty fresh app and I hope the developers will take some time to make it better.
If you want an app to track your drinking, this is the best offered. Its easy to use, graphically pleasing/clean, tracks your intake and how much you spend, etc. I kind of wish the alcohol percentages could be given in decimals, or that when I bought alcohol in large quantities I could record it easily. (I can track how much I spend on an individual drink, but since I buy most of my alcohol in bulk or in bottles and drink it at home among friends, its not all that useful. But its a good feature anyway.) But nothings perfect. Dont waste your money on a different app.
I was thinking that I am moderate drinker but did not actually know what are my drinking habits therefore I started to use DrinkControl to track it. Now I can feel safer that I am really moderate drinker as I see that some my friends drink a lot more :) So try it by yourself and recommend it to friends who you think should really take more care of their drinking habits (and volumes).
A thoroughly misconceived job in my view. Impenetrable interface invoking authoritarian nonsense. If you liked your worst uncles bad breath, youll love this app.
This has been a big help in honestly tracking alcohol consumption, and has actually resulted in reducing how much i drink. Minor annoyance: why no alcohol % in tenths? Many of the beers i drink are 7.5% for example. Also, why no custom sizes? Many beers are in 11.2 oz bottles, but its not an option. And bombers are 22 oz, not 23.
Its a good app for keeping a historical log of how many drinks u have had.
